Laura Williams is a fitness expert and advocate. She received an undergrad degree in Exercise and Sport Science from Texas State University in 2003. From 2004 to 2010, she managed gyms and recreation centers (including a 90,000 square foot facility featuring everything from rock climbing and basketball to group fitness and synchronized swimming), before returning to school to pursue a master's degree.

In 2011, she graduated with a Masters Degree from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Exercise and Sport Science. Since 2011, she has been writing professionally about health and fitness for websites and print publications including Men's Journal, Thrillist, Onnit, and SheKnows, while managing her own online health and fitness community, Girls Gone Sporty. In May 2014, she received her Certified Exercise Physiologist (EP-C) certification from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), and has hosted online boot camps and taught exercise science classes as an adjunct instructor.

In 2017 she was hired as a full-time exercise science instructor at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. She teaches courses in Personal Fitness & Health, Intro to Exercise Science, weight training, slacklining, jump rope, and boot camp.
